Job Title Sr.Network Engineer/ Network Lead:
Job Description:
The Network Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, upgrade and support of the network infrastructure. Responsible for network services and technologies that integrate tightly with the virtualization infrastructure.
The ideal candidate for the Network Engineer position should have minimum of 4 years hands-on experience in network design, administration, and support in a 24 x 7 high available environment.
Responsibilities & Requirements:
Design, implement, and document network services to support customer service offerings
Assist in the design and implementation of network implementations to meet deadlines
Network monitoring and incident response
Handling the day-to-day network operations.
Add/Modify/Remove Firewall Rules based on Request and Approval
Perform scheduled and emergency network maintenance
Implement, support, and manage network devices such as Routers, Switches, firewalls and load balancers
Knowledge in storage protocols like NFS, FCP, etc is a plus.
Deploy and manage network management and monitoring systems
Develop procedures and policies for new service turn-ups, service level agreements, and network security.
Qualifications:
Minimum 5-8 Yrs experience with core switching and Routing (cisco/juniper/HP)
Understanding on Wireless Technologies
Strong working knowledge and hands on experience with IPv4 & IPv6, BGP, OSPF, HSRP, ARP, 802.1Q, 802.1QinQ, IPSec, SNMP
Expert knowledge of TCP/IP networking
Experience with network monitoring applications, Nagios and Zabbix preferred
Experience with hardware/software firewalls (Fortigate, Juniper SRX , Cisco ASA preferred)
Some night, morning, and weekend work will be required as needed and on an oncall basis to insure
network reliability and customer support.
Excellent communication skills (both oral and written communication skills).
Ability to work without close supervision.
Linux/Unix knowledge is preferred.
Diploma or BS in Electronic / Computer Science or equivalent experience.
