Senior Technical Writer
The Position
As InsideViews Senior Technical Writer, based in our international Hyderabad headquarters, you will be tasked with driving and prioritizing our documentation initiatives by working with a cross-functional team to identify and develop documentation standards and online help articles, printed documentation such as installation guides, and assisting the design team with UI text. You will use your exceptional technical writing experience in a fast-paced agile environment to ensure our product and its features are easy to understand and use. We are seeking a talented Senior Technical Writer to develop and implement online help and other instructional content for our product, InsideView for Sales to ensure maximum customer satisfaction and user success.
Responsibilities
Identify and drive documentation initiatives across the organization
Work closely with User Experience, Product Management, Training, and Engineering to gather documentation requirements and input.
Develop and follow documentation standards.
Deliver and maintain high quality documentation which will include online help articles, Installation guides, and more.
Develop in-product contextual help content.
Assist with UI text.
Background & Skills
The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of documentation standards and a proven track record of driving and developing help content for enterprise and/or complex web-based applications. You are passionate about making design and technology user-friendly and get along equally well with designers and developers.
Excellent verbal, writing and editing skills.
Excellent leadership, communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to translate complex concepts to clear, concise instructions and communicate information and ideas in writing so others will understand.
Highly motivated with demonstrated ability to take ownership and define work with little or no direction.
Experience creating exceptional customer-facing FAQ documents and user guides.
Proactive with proven ability to learn new technologies quickly and thoroughly.
BA/BS and 6 years of relevant experience in technical writing or product documentation.
Flexible, and willing to work in a fast paced environment.
Proficiency using a wide range of tools, such as Snagit and Camtasia Studio and creating documentation on online communities.
"Must have" skills...
Expertise in writing technical documentation and developing training materials.
Experience leading documentation initiatives and working autonomously.
Experience creating "How to" training materials using Camtasia Studio or similar application. (Not including voice-over work). "Nice to have" skills...
Experience working in a rapid development environment.
Experience with CRM or Sales applications.
Experience working within online communities and social media tools such as forums, blogs, podcasts, etc.
